What is a Light Group?

A Light group consists of 3 to 4 people (same gender on the whole). Or a couple with 2 others

You meet together at a regular time mutually agreed - weekly or fortnightly.

You can meet anywhere: a house, pub, café, to ask each other how you are getting on.

Meeting in small numbers means that we can be accountable and care for each other; having 2 or 3 other people that you can share the way in which you are living out your faith and encouraging one another to read the bible and pray. You may want to look at a particular aspect of faith together. Light groups are based on faith practices like generosity, prayer, and service.

If you are interested in being part of a Light group or setting one up with others please have a chat with Kirsten or Ray

SALT (Sharing and Learning Together) and Light

What is a SALT group?

A SALT group is a group which runs for a defined amount of time. It could be 4 weeks, 6 weeks, a term. Thus, enabling people to lead and participate for a boundaries time.

A SALT group can be about anything - and they are very simple to run.

A SALT group is a group of people that maybe share an interest or activity or want to explore an aspect of faith or social justice. Having a number of these on offer over a term gives people a choice.

A SALT group could be making something, cooking something or learning something. It could be 6 weeks on Exodus, 4 weeks making a holding cross, ‘how do I pray?’ for a month or playing football or cycling for a specified time.

They are designed to be open across church and the community too so that they are something that you can invite friends to.
