We are a friendly welcoming local Christian community that is seeking to live out our faith in our everyday lives. We try to live in a way that follows Jesus and seeks to do what he did. We aim to bless and help everyone we meet and to show God’s love and compassion to all people. A group of ordinary people who worship and love an extraordinary God.

Coming Up...

  • Please note there will be no Oak Cafe on Tuesday 30 April.
  • The Oak Café - Every Tuesday, from 10am until 12.30pm. All are welcome to drop in for a tea or coffee and a natter, or even just some quiet time. We plan for there to be a space for being creative, and we also plan to have support from local welfare associations dropping in to give advice where available.

- CAP Advisors (advice on debt,  job club) - every week

Stoke Community Pantry is a community pantry run out of St Peter's for those in need of an emergency package of food and toiletries - we can also provide advice and referrals for longer term support following this.

The pantry is open Tuesdays 10am-12.30pm and Saturdays 10am-12noon.  Check out the facebook page below for any updates.

Weekly Prayer Challenge

Prayer is our foundation, and we have a lot of things to pray for, particularly with our building project gathering steam. We need every member of our various congregations to pray each week with another person and we will give you a new prayer every week. This may sound daunting perhaps, but it can be done in person, over the phone or just by arranging to pray at the same time as another person. The other person does not even have to be a St Peter's Church member. If you are new or not sure how to pray, please ask and we will get some resources for you.

We would like you to keep a record of anything that comes to mind when praying. Please jot thoughts down on a piece of paper and keep it safe (specific slips for this can be found in the prayer section of the weekly news sheet and envelopes for collecting the slips can be found in the church narthex). If you would like to keep your responses electronically you can download a word template below, or contact the office if you require another format. We will be asking for your feedback at some point.

Week commencing Sunday  21/4/24:

Lord, as Messy Church families hear about ‘Who is Jesus?’, we pray for our nation to know you;

To know you as the Son of God, our Saviour, with us from the birth of creation and throughout eternity;

To know that you revealed yourself to us as a baby; as a man you proved your divinity through miracles,

taught us about God as father and how to love one another;

That through Jesus’ death and resurrection we are forgiven and may be with you always;

To know that you are all-forgiving, compassionate, merciful, kind & our closest friend.

Ignite our faith, Lord!

Amen
